Responsibilities
- Apply technical expertise to air cooled heat exchangers, dry coolers, CRAHs, and related air cooled systems across core market sectors
- Assist sales and business development with selecting, sizing, customizing, and proposing solutions
- Develop and maintain application tools, selection software, and technical documentation
- Serve as a technical liaison with customers, consultants, and contractors to ensure solutions meet project requirements
- Own selected CRAH application engineering activities, including system selection, configuration support, and guidance
- Own the product lifecycle for assigned product lines from concept through launch and ongoing improvement
- Collect and prioritize product requirements from customer feedback, competitive analysis, market research, and internal input
- Define specifications, feature enhancements, and performance targets aligned with business goals
- Guide pricing, value positioning, and target margins in coordination with Sales and leadership
- Maintain ownership of roadmap priorities and cross-functional decision making
- Serve as the primary interface between the product line and Engineering / R&D for assigned products
- Translate customer needs and market requirements into clear engineering and development requirements
- Collaborate with Engineering / R&D to set validation priorities, performance targets, and release criteria
- Review development progress to ensure solutions meet application needs, manufacturability, and cost targets
- Coordinate engineering sign-off and cross-functional readiness before manufacturing release
- Support change management and continuous improvement by integrating field feedback and customer requirements into development priorities
- Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure designs support manufacturability, repeatability, and cost-effective delivery
- Review designs and proposed changes for production feasibility and readiness prior to release
- Facilitate the transition from development to production by addressing readiness risks early
- Balance customization and standardization with cost and delivery performance across the product line
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives based on manufacturing feedback, field experience, and customer insights
- Support ownership and coordination of product approvals and certifications such as UL, CE, EMC, and other requirements
- No supervisory responsibilities
- Technologies used include selection software, CAD tools, and thermal modelling
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical, Thermal Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- At least five years of experience in HVAC, heat exchangers, mission-critical cooling systems, or related thermal equipment
- Strong foundation in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics
- Experience with product development, cross-functional release processes, and product-line support in a technical manufacturing setting
- Solid understanding of manufacturability, production readiness, and engineering trade-offs in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with product-line management, lifecycle ownership, or product strategy in a technical context
- Proficiency in thermal modelling, selection software, and CAD tools
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities with the capacity to collaborate across Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Sales, Supply Chain, Quality, and customer teams
Work Environment
The facility is non-temperature controlled and features typical metal fabrication shop conditions with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles. Personal protective equipment is required, including hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, and appropriate masks or respirators when needed, along with OSHA compliant safety boots.
