SCADA Engineer
Job Description
BlueWave Resource Partners is seeking a SCADA Engineer to help support the rollout and day-to-day operations of a new centralized SCADA/GMS platform for renewable generation, battery storage, and substations. The role is focused on configuring, integrating, testing, deploying, and maintaining systems that enable reliable real-time operations and control data exchange across site and centralized environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Phase 2 of the rollout and ongoing operations of the centralized SCADA/GMS platform.
- Configure, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain SCADA/GMS systems for renewable generation, battery storage, and substations.
- Manage SCADA/GMS database configurations, including equipment models, telemetry points, alarms, calculations, communications, and operator displays.
- Support generation-control data exchanges by validating setpoints and communications between external interfaces, the centralized SCADA/GMS platform, and site systems.
- Troubleshoot real-time operational issues such as failed ICCP links, missing generation setpoints, incorrect telemetry, and communication failures.
- Own technical support cases from initial customer contact through investigation, resolution, testing, and follow-up.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including control-room, generation operations, and market-facing groups, to understand issues, share progress, and confirm operational acceptance.
- Coordinate with engineers, site personnel, cybersecurity, infrastructure, vendors, and system integrators to resolve dependencies and drive issues to closure.
- Develop and execute integration tests to validate communications, controls, alarms, data quality, and system functionality.
- Maintain system documentation, configuration standards, change controls, and compliance with applicable NERC requirements.
- Provide technical leadership by recommending best practices and supporting the establishment of reliable operational processes for the team.
