Job Description

As part of Morgan Health at JPMorgan Chase, this Senior Analytics Engineer role focuses on building and evolving an analytics data foundation for healthcare use cases. You will help translate complex healthcare data into trusted, production-ready datasets by owning key parts of the analytics lifecycle across modeling, testing, deployment, and ongoing reliability.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain Morgan Health healthcare data models, including data marts and curated datasets, using SQL and dbt
  • Build proof of concept (POC) data product solutions aligned to data scientist design requirements, iterate quickly, and evolve POCs into production-level implementations
  • Design and evolve a robust automated testing framework, including dbt tests, custom checks, and risk-based testing strategies
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Databricks bundles and production jobs, using environment branching strategies and Unity Catalog to support access-controlled, auditable data asset management
  • Lead code reviews for the team’s dbt codebase and help set quality standards that improve code-review rigor, traceability, and maintainability
  • Maintain clear documentation across the analytics layer, including data dictionary, model descriptions, metric logic, known limitations, and issue logs to support data governance and HIPAA-aligned compliance
  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues in analytics, partnering with the Data Product lead to validate upstream causes and prioritize fixes
  • Design CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows in response to changing control requirements, rather than only executing an existing process

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in analytics engineering, data analytics/modeling, or a closely related role building curated, analyst- and data-science-facing datasets
  • Strong SQL skills, including modular, tested, version-controlled SQL transformations using dbt
  • Proven ownership across the full dbt lifecycle, including automated testing, CI/CD, deployment, environment and version management, monitoring, and production performance and reliability
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks (or similar) to develop and support production data pipelines and analytics workflows, with experience using Python or R for analysis, testing, and automation
  • Track record of creating and maintaining data models, data marts, and transformations supporting multiple analytical use cases
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across cross-functional teams including data scientists, analytics engineering, product/architecture, and platform partners
