Senior Biometric Software Engineer
Job Description
Athena Sciences Corporation is seeking a Senior Biometric Software Engineer to join its Rosslyn, VA team on a hybrid schedule. The position supports the DHS Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) and requires U.S. citizenship along with a bachelor’s degree and at least ten years of software development experience. The role blends hands-on coding with architectural input to shape biometric solutions that meet mission-critical requirements, with a salary range of USD 100,000 to 115,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Leverage Go and Java experience to design, deploy, and maintain mission-critical biometric applications.
- Provide technical guidance during concepting, development, and deployment to translate requirements into working solutions, engaging with users to define scope and objectives and contributing to design decisions.
- Participate in new development and re-engineering efforts, including making system design choices.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- DHS HQ EOD clearance is required to start; candidate must be eligible for DHS HQ Final Suitability.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 10+ years of development experience.
- Experience with GoLang and Java programming languages.
- Experience with Spring Boot.
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Maven.
- Experience with relational databases.
- Experience with Docker, AWS administration, Red Hat/OpenShift v4.x.
- Experience with Agile development methodology.
- Knowledge of end-to-end fully automated CI/CD pipelines.
