Senior Controls Engineer
Job Description
Easy Automation Inc. is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to support the controls team with PLC and HMI projects, working across the project lifecycle from initial sales order through installation. This hybrid role is based in Mankato, MN and includes custom code development, troubleshooting support, and assigned after-hours phone coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the controls team to move projects from the initial sales order through completed installation.
- Write custom code for PLC and HMI programs.
- Troubleshoot customer problems by phone during normal business hours, and provide after-hours phone support as assigned.
- Partner with the EAI development team to produce solutions that align with the needs of customers across a growing range of industries.
- Develop and enhance challenging and unique projects.
- Perform additional duties and roles as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Electrical background, with advanced knowledge and experience in PLC programming, plus 5+ years of applicable experience.
- Two- or four-year degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Controls & Robotics, or equivalent education/experience.
- Professional presence and an attitude that is positive and open to new ideas.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and passport (or ability to obtain one).
- Ability to travel to Canada.
- Ability to climb ladders, grain legs, or similar equipment, and tolerate dusty work environments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, and to sit, stand, bend, kneel, twist, crawl, or squat several times a day.

Location and Work Schedule
The role is Hybrid remote in Mankato, MN 56001, with the expectation of travel to customer sites for installation. Travel may require working hours and scheduling to vary while on site.

- Customer site travel: approximately 20–25% for installation
- Potential to be based out of Welcome, Mankato, or Edina locations, with opportunity to work remotely or under a hybrid model after a training period

Compensation
Salary range: USD 100,000 - 150,000 per year. This range includes bonuses, commissions, and incentives.
