Job Description

A Senior Data Engineer specializing in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI is sought to design, build, and govern a modern enterprise data platform. This role enables real-time operational and financial reporting across multiple entities by delivering scalable data pipelines, robust governance, and insightful analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Design and govern the enterprise data architecture within Microsoft Fabric, covering Lakehouses, Dataflows Gen2, data pipelines, and semantic models, with established governance standards.
  • Build and maintain scalable ELT pipelines that integrate data from IFS Cloud, Vista, ComputerEase, Sage Intacct, CRM, and other operational platforms.
  • Develop data models supporting WIP and Percentage of Completion reporting, Job costing, AR aging, Retainage, Field service operations, and multi-entity financial reporting.
  • Lead Power BI architecture and governance efforts, including semantic layer design, row-level security, dataset certification, deployment pipelines, and workspace administration.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and IT to translate business requirements into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Establish data quality, monitoring, testing, and governance standards across the enterprise data platform.
  • Mentor analysts and technical team members on Power BI development standards and reporting best practices.
  • Support future analytics initiatives, including predictive analytics, self-service BI, and AI-enabled reporting capabilities.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or senior BI development roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric including Lakehouses, Data Factory pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, OneLake governance, and Semantic model deployment.
  • Advanced Power BI experience including DAX, composite models, DirectQuery and import optimization, deployment pipelines, and workspace administration.
  • Strong experience with enterprise data modeling (dimensional and relational).
  • Experience working with ERP and financial systems such as IFS, Vista, ComputerEase, Sage Intacct, Procore, and similar platforms.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills for data transformation and pipeline development.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT and integration tools such as Azure Data Factory, Fabric pipelines, and Boomi.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
