Senior Database Security Engineer (Cloud Database Activity Monitoring & Automation)

Join Experis as a Senior Database Security Engineer in Chandler, AZ (onsite), focusing on cloud database activity monitoring and automation across AWS and Azure. This role combines security workflow design with hands-on integrations to improve visibility, strengthen controls, and streamline operations for AWS RDS, Postgres, and MSSQL environments.

What you’ll do

You will support approved locations NJ2-101-08-35 and TX2-981-03-31, with an emphasis on automating a database activity monitoring solution for cloud-based databases on AWS and Azure.

• Design, build, and automate monitoring and security workflows for cloud databases including AWS RDS, Postgres, and MSSQL.
• Implement and validate database security controls such as native audit logging, encryption in-transit, encryption at-rest, entitlements, and password vaulting.
• Develop and maintain integrations and tooling using Python, shell scripting, Linux, and REST APIs to enhance visibility and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate in an agile delivery model using scrum practices, with tools including Jira, Horizon, and CI/CD pipelines.

What you bring

• 10+ years of experience as a SQL Server Engineer or other database developer with deep expertise in Python, shell scripting, Linux, REST APIs, AWS RDS, Postgres, and MSSQL.
• Strong foundation in database security, including native audit logging, encryption in-transit, encryption at-rest, entitlements, and password vaulting.
• Hands-on familiarity with database activity monitoring tools such as Guardium or similar solutions.
• Practical experience with PowerShell and Ansible, along with the ability to automate security and monitoring tasks end-to-end.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team in a proactive, solution-oriented way.
