Job Description

The following describes a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer role at Nestlé USA in Anderson, IN (onsite), focusing on designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical, automation, MES, and digital systems to support reliable manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver technical training resources to ensure operators and maintenance personnel for E&A equipment are competent, safe, and efficient.
  • Perform competency evaluations to assess the skills of factory staff.
  • Provide guidance and support to strengthen the facility's technical capabilities.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and apply innovative solutions to boost process performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance process optimization initiatives.
  • Support the implementation and execution of maintenance strategies, tools, and methodologies.
  • Ensure the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems, instrumentation, process and supervisory control, and MES.
  • Leverage digital technologies to enhance reliability and drive process improvements.
  • Maintain compliance with market and corporate safety, health, environment, product safety, and product quality standards for all E&A installations.
  • Keep E&A documentation current, including electrical drawings, automation documentation, backups, and maintenance plans.
  • Establish robust change management processes to handle modifications involving E&A systems.
  • Support factory sustainability objectives by identifying opportunities for energy and water savings.
  • Monitor and report results of improvement projects across sustainability and other areas.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to drive sustainability initiatives.
  • Contribute to asset management by forecasting end-of-life, obsolescence, and replacement requirements.
  • Keep stakeholders informed for capital planning related to E&A assets in a timely manner.
  • Balance asset performance with cost competitiveness when making asset decisions.
  • Lead and execute the Electrical and Automation portion of capital investment projects, in line with corporate and market standards.
  • Ensure technical solutions meet quality standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement industrialization projects successfully.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical controls, automation, or related area.
  • Krones or Siemens Systems experience preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license (P.E.) is a plus.
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP) is a plus.
