Senior Electrical Engineer

Advanced Engineering Talent Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (contract) to support a DoD-focused shelter engineering effort in Gilbert, AZ. This onsite role centers on developing electrical harness schematics for command and control shelter specifications related to TEMPEST controls, with a strong emphasis on EMI-aware design and documentation for customer review.

The contractor will work on schematic development, architecture and performance analysis, and deliverables that support out briefs, analysis reporting, compliance artifacts, and design reviews across technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical schematics that satisfy DoD and Commercial specifications with an EMI protection focus.
• Conduct analysis to confirm the electrical architecture aligns with performance requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, systems engineers, and project managers to support integrated engineering needs.
• Create and maintain documentation supporting customer out briefs, analysis reports, and artifacts for compliance and design reviews.

Requirements

• US Citizen (application question: “Are you a U.S. Citizen?”).
• 5+ years design and development experience involving electrical harness and electrical architecture in line with industry standards (IEC/IEEE/IPC/NEC, etc.).
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with electrical focus, or a related field.
• Strong skills with Visio or a similar wire diagram tool.
• Self-starter and team-oriented, task oriented.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years design and development experience with electrical harness and electrical architecture aligned with industry standards (IEC/IEEE/IPC/NEC, etc.).
• Highly proficient in the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Location, Schedule, and Pay

• Work location: In person (Gilbert, AZ)
• Job type: Contract
• Expected hours: 24.0 to 40.0 hours per week
• Rate: USD 86–108 per hour
