Senior Engineer (Roadway)

Olsson is seeking a Senior Engineer specializing in roadway design to lead sizable, complex projects and steer the technical direction of the discipline. The role is based onsite in Phoenix, Arizona, with relocation required or candidates open to relocating. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality roadway solutions for clients while mentoring a team and aligning technical execution with project goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale, complex design projects from concept through to completion.
• Perform advanced technical analysis and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Oversee engineering processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Develop and implement design standards and best practices.
• Mentor and train team members to elevate technical capabilities.
• Collaborate with project managers to align technical execution with project goals.
• Own the technical outcomes and client satisfaction for design work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 8+ years of engineering experience with increasing responsibility.
• 4+ years supervising or mentoring technical staff.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and client service skills.
• Deep knowledge of regulations, standards, and quality management practices.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others.
