Senior Gas Turbine SCR Design Engineer
Job Description
The Senior Gas Turbine SCR Design Engineer role is a highly technical, design-focused position based onsite in Houston, TX. This role leads the end-to-end design and engineering of complete Selective Catalytic Reduction systems for gas turbine applications, collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams from concept through the engineering package.
Responsibilities
- Develop end-to-end SCR system designs for gas turbine installations.
- Specify and integrate catalyst systems as part of the SCR package.
- Engineer reactor assemblies, ammonia injection grids (AIG), ductwork, and associated hardware.
- Create complete hardware designs and engineering packages for fabrication and on-site installation.
- Size and specify major mechanical equipment and system components.
- Perform engineering calculations and technical evaluations.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable U.S. engineering codes, environmental regulations, and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and project teams.
- Support technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders through the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate engineering documentation and obtain PE review and sign-off when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience designing SCR systems for gas turbine applications.
- Experience with catalyst selection, reactor design, ammonia injection systems (AIG), and flow distribution.
- Experience designing complete hardware and packaging systems.
- Knowledge of U.S. engineering codes and standards applicable to power generation and emissions control.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
