Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Senior Geotechnical Engineer opportunity with Geo-Technology Associates Inc. in Nashville, TN.

Responsibilities

• Exercise independent problem solving and method selection while representing the firm with professional authority in meetings with clients and contractors to resolve critical issues and coordinate work.
• Lead project teams on both routine and complex assignments.
• Leverage broad experience and a diversified knowledge base of geotechnical engineering principles and related disciplines across varied tasks.
• Apply advanced techniques by adapting and extending theories and practices within geotechnical and related sciences.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to staff.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local methods and regulatory requirements governing geotechnical practice.
• Demonstrate the ability to retain existing clients and develop new business opportunities through relationship building.
• Support planning, research, and evaluation of new market opportunities.
• Maintain sensitivity to profitability and business considerations in project decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus
• Professional Engineer license strongly preferred
• 7–10 years of relevant geotechnical and construction observation experience
• Strong communication and report-writing skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Experience with AutoCAD or CADD
