Job Description

In Huntsville, Alabama, this in-office role centers on enabling the Ground Weapons System within the Ground Fire Control product for the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense program. You will contribute to mission-critical software that supports threat evaluation and management for the missile defense system, collaborating with a diverse team of engineers across experience levels. An active DoD Secret clearance is required to begin.

Responsibilities

  • Understand, implement, and test both existing and new capabilities and algorithms that involve complex mathematics and physics-based solutions to support Ground Weapons System functionality for the Missile Defense Agency.
  • Be part of a team that writes and maintains a large codebase (approximately 1.5 million lines of code) responsible for evaluating and managing the threat scene within the Ground Fire Control product.
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, handling a broad range of assignments while collaborating with teammates across varying levels of experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 8+ years of related work experience, or Master’s Degree with 6+ years, or PhD with 4 years.
  • Recent software development experience in C++ or Java or Ada, with a willingness to become proficient in Ada.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to think critically, capturing concepts clearly in work products, presentations, and discussions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team, and to support an in-person closed-area work environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to meet business needs.
  • Current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, required to start.
