Austin, TX $151k - $205k/yr Full time Posted 25d ago

Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services is hiring a Senior Technical Product Manager to shape the next generation of medium voltage (MV) products for data center electrical infrastructure. In this role at Amazon Data Services, you will build and execute a product strategy spanning Medium Voltage Switchgear (MVS) and Medium Voltage Transformers (MVT), moving concepts through global deployment.

You will own the full product lifecycle, lead New Product Introduction (NPI), and partner across engineering, operations, suppliers, and customer-facing teams to ensure reliable launches that meet quality, capacity, and cost goals for Amazon data centers.

Role focus

  • Manage and own the roadmap for medium voltage switchgear (MVS) and medium voltage transformer (MVT) products designed for Amazon data centers
  • Design, develop, launch, and support MV switchgear and transformer products critical to data center electrical infrastructure
  • Drive supplier qualification by evaluating and onboarding MV equipment suppliers to meet AWS quality, reliability, and capacity requirements
  • Lead NPI programs from concept through design validation, testing, and production readiness to support on-time product launches
  • Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives across the MV product portfolio using design-to-value, material optimization, and manufacturing process improvements
  • Drive continuous advancements within data center MV electrical designs and communicate technical direction to Sr. Management
  • Own and drive the complete product lifecycle from idea conception through implementation and wide-scale deployment, including eventual deprecation
  • Develop product features and deployment strategies to improve profitability and penetration in new applications and use cases

Customer and requirements discovery

  • Engage with internal and external Amazon customers and support teams to capture critical medium voltage power distribution needs for current operations, rack roadmaps, and new data center designs
  • Use collected insights to identify product requirements, establish a product vision, and own the product development roadmap for critical MV electrical infrastructure segments

Business cases and cross-team alignment

  • Coordinate between multiple teams to develop business cases that substantiate value, define product prioritization, and outline budget and resources required to implement product roadmaps
  • Work independently in a high-pressure environment with all levels of leadership, exercising sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist

Collaboration model

  • Work closely with product design engineers (PDES), product lifecycle engineers (PLES), and STR
  • Partner with PDES on new product development, collaborate with PLEs on customer engagement and lessons learned, and coordinate with TPMs on first-of-a-kind deployments
  • Lead across disciplines without direct authority

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • Experience owning and driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and product tradeoffs
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and product strategy
  • Experience representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years of leading large-scale, technical or engineering programs, including thought leadership, business case development, delivering customer benefits, and successful program completion
  • 5+ years working with medium voltage electrical equipment (switchgear, transformers, or similar MV products)
  • 5+ years in data center, utility, or large-scale industrial power distribution environments
  • Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, IEC, and UL standards related to medium voltage switchgear and transformers
