Job Description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for an on-site role in San Diego, CA. The position supports the design and development of modular, secure software components and requires strong web and front-end experience alongside Linux (RHEL) development. An ACTIVE SECRET clearance is required to start, with Top Secret clearance required after start.

Salary

USD 120,001 - 160,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Perform software engineering design and development activities to produce reliable, modular, and secure software components.
  • Develop software on a RHEL OS platform.
  • Support software development involving custom C++ based applications, X windows-based applications, and web-based middleware.
  • Write application logic and assist with policy for security accreditations.

Required Qualifications

  • Education and experience aligned to the role:
    • Bachelors with five (5) years or more experience
    • Masters with three (3) years or more experience
    • PhD with 0 years related experience
  • Familiarity with Linux (RHEL).
  • Front-end technology experience including JavaScript, React, CSS3, and HTML5, plus third-party libraries such as React Js, Angular, jQuery, and LESS.
  • Strong Web experience.
  • Industry experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale systems in production.
  • Experience with Nginx or Apache servers with a solid background in Linux.
  • Familiarity with DBMS technology, including PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and MySQL.
  • Basic design ability, including knowledge of UI/UX and basic prototype design.
  • Excellent understanding of low-level operating systems concepts including multi-threading, memory management, networking, storage, performance, and scale.
  • Ability to visualize a proposed system and build it.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Active Secret clearance to start.
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance after start.
