Senior Software Engineer AI Platforms

Cisco Security AI is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help lead the delivery of an AI platform. In this role, you will build and maintain APIs that make AI capabilities usable across teams, while driving deployment and orchestration in containerized environments.

Working onsite in Austin, TX, you will provide technical leadership across API development and cloud delivery, partnering with data scientists and AI engineers to integrate models into production services. The position spans Kubernetes-based orchestration, cloud deployment on AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure, performance optimization, and monitoring, with an emphasis on security and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership by guiding and mentoring a team of Software Engineers and setting high standards for API development and cloud deployment.
• Design, develop, and maintain APIs that expose AI capabilities to other teams, focusing on scalability, reliability, and ease of use.
• Collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers to integrate AI models and algorithms into the platform so they can be accessed through the APIs.
• Use your Kubernetes experience to architect and optimize deployment and orchestration of AI services running in containerized environments.
• Lead deployment and management of AI services on AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure to support scalability, security, and cost optimization.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, improving response times and resource utilization.
• Implement monitoring and logging solutions to track performance and health of deployed AI services for faster issue resolution.
• Ensure AI services and APIs meet security and compliance standards by working closely with security teams.
• Create clear, comprehensive documentation covering APIs and deployment processes to help teams use the platform effectively.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer, including building SaaS services at scale with API-first design and demonstrated technical leadership.
• 5+ years of coding experience in Python, Java, Go, and/or C/C++.
• BA/BS degree with 4+ years of experience, or MS degree with 2+ years of experience as a software development engineer.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing cloud infrastructure services on AWS, Google Cloud, and/or Azure.
• Experience using Kubernetes architecture.
• Knowledge of security and compliance standards.

Compensation and Location

• Location: Austin, TX (onsite)
• Salary range: USD 150,900 - 222,200 per year
