Job Description

Join Lockheed Martin Space as a Senior Software Engineer - Level 3 within a TS/SCI with Poly environment, onsite in King of Prussia, PA. You will design, develop, and maintain software for satellite mission planning and spacecraft operations, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to enable critical space missions. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of software engineers to develop, enhance, and sustain satellite mission planning capabilities.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications supporting mission planning and spacecraft operations.
  • Implement software features and resolve defects in line with program requirements and software development best practices.
  • Work closely with systems engineers, operators, and senior engineers to understand mission planning requirements and translate them into software solutions.
  • Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
  • Support software integration, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment activities.
  • Engage in Agile development activities including sprint planning, daily scrums, demonstrations, retrospectives, and release planning.
  • Develop knowledge of satellite mission planning concepts, operational workflows, and mission planning algorithms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with software design, implementation, debugging, and testing using C#, Java, or similar object-oriented programming languages.
  • Experience working in a collaborative software development environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Desire to learn mission planning concepts and contribute to the development of operational mission software.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with favorable polygraph adjudication and the ability to maintain the required clearance. U.S. Citizenship required.

Security Clearance

This position requires a government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required. Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph adjudication is required to be considered and to remain eligible.

Work Location and Schedule

Location: King of Prussia, PA, onsite at a Lockheed Martin facility. This is a full-time on-site role with scheduling options that may include standard 40 hours across a five-day week or condensed alternatives. The position follows an on-site arrangement with a 9x80 schedule, every other Friday off.
