Job Description

Experis is seeking a Senior SQL Server/Python Data Engineer to join a capital markets effort in Charlotte, NC. This on-site contract role supports the Data Modernization and Investment Banking Technology teams, with work focused on enhancing risk and capital management products.

You will help turn business needs into technical specifications, contribute across Agile workstreams, and build risk management capabilities within the current technology stack. The position emphasizes practical data engineering, scalable workflow execution, and delivery of components that support usability and integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret Data Modernization strategies across multiple disciplines to develop data solutions.
  • Support the formalization of business requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
  • Participate in Agile workstreams and use Jira to support smooth project execution.
  • Create scalable capacity from an Agile perspective by optimizing workflows and processes.
  • Develop and support risk management products within the current technology stack to improve usability and integration.

Requirements

  • SQL Server expertise, including strong relational database knowledge and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in Python, including data engineering libraries such as Pandas, Polar, and Torch.
  • Experience building distributed applications and working with micro-service architectures.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Git and Jenkins, plus automation deployment toolkits.
  • Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs within an Agile development environment.
