Job Description

Senior Staff Numerical Algorithm Software Engineer role focused on low-latency remote sensing exploitation and tracking in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Explore and evaluate new algorithms and analysis techniques for remote sensor data exploitation
  • Apply idiomatic, fluent Python and/or C++ with strong software design and architecture practices
  • Develop and tune Kalman filtering, tracking, and data exploitation algorithms using Python and C++
  • Assess algorithm and sensor system quality and performance
  • Collaborate with an Agile team to prototype and integrate capabilities
  • Contribute to shared tools and ongoing team development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
  • At least 5 years of ongoing professional experience in technological fields (additional education may substitute for years of experience)
  • Experience with state estimation, tracking, or Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC)
  • At least 2 years of academic or professional experience in C++ and Python
  • Fluency with Linux operating systems
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work full-time in-person in the Boulder, CO office location

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current active DoD security clearance
  • Advanced degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
  • Professional experience with application orchestration and/or deployment to the cloud

  • Professional experience with exploitation and analysis of OPIR, E/O, SAR, Spectral, RF, or other remotely sensed data

Compensation and Location

  • Location: Boulder, CO (onsite)
  • Pay range: USD 127,000 - 157,000 per year
  • SciTec may consider factors such as role and responsibilities, work experience, education/training, and key skills when extending an offer
  • Pay range is not a guarantee of compensation
