Algorithm Development Software Engineer - Level 2 or 3

Algorithms Development Software Engineer roles (Level 2 or 3) support on-site R&D in Boulder, CO by building and validating software and mathematical algorithms used to identify different threats.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document, and debug software and mathematical algorithms for threat identification
• Develop software using C++ 20 and Python
• Apply strong physics and mathematics understanding to algorithm development
• Conduct analysis tool development
• Provide technical documentation as required

Requirements

• Software Engineer - Level 2:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience
  • or Master’s degree and 0-2 years of related experience
• Principal Software Engineer - Level 3:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience
  • or Master’s degree and 3 years of related experience
  • or 1 year with a PhD
• Must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret clearance at time of application and ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret
• Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs

• Modern C++ experience, including ability to write modern C++ code (templates, move semantics, smart pointers)
• Strong math & physics background, including examples such as Vectors and Kinematics, Reference Frames, Attitude Dynamics, Stochastic Processes, Linear Algebra
• Statistical principles and analysis experience, including examples such as Probability Distributions, Conditional Probability, Multi-Variate Random Variables, Kalman Filters, Least Squares

• Distributed systems experience
• Algorithm design, state estimation, and tracking experience
• Algorithm verification and validation experience
• DevOps and DevSecOps experience

• Exposure to OPIR and EOIR sensors; translating sensor data into actionable results
• Exposure to long range infrared systems experience and PSF photometry
• Stereo vision systems experience
• Remote sensing experience
• Container orchestration and deployment experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker Compose
• Atlassian suite experience (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.)

Salary

• Primary level salary range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00
• Secondary level salary range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00
• Stated annual salary range: USD 91,800 - 171,000
