Software Engineer

Based in Austin, Texas with a hybrid work model, InCommodities US is seeking a Software Engineer to design and deploy production-ready agentic AI systems for energy trading. You will collaborate with traders, quants, and engineers to turn market ideas into testable strategies, with an annual salary of USD 160,000.

Responsibilities

• Develop agentic AI systems that run reliably in production environments
• Create workflows in which AI agents manage context, call tools, and make decisions across complex tasks
• Build context management and retrieval pipelines to ensure models access the right data at the right moment
• Coordinate multi-step workflows that cover code generation, backtesting, and execution integration
• Integrate AI systems with internal APIs, market data streams, and quantitative tooling
• Ensure production readiness through robust testing, monitoring, and error handling
• Work closely with traders, quants, and engineers to turn market ideas into testable strategies

Requirements

• You have delivered production-grade AI systems, not merely prototypes
• You have experience with agent-based architectures involving tool calling, orchestration, or multi-step reasoning
• You have experience with retrieval-augmented generation connected to real data pipelines
• You understand system-level context management, prompt design, and model integration patterns
• You write clean, maintainable code that others can extend
• You are comfortable working across languages and platforms, including Python, .NET, or others
• You are proficient in English, both written and spoken
