Job Description

Capgemini offers a hybrid Software Engineer opportunity with a focus on building and improving scalable solutions across the full stack. The role brings together teams working on backend and frontend development, including microservices, APIs, data pipelines, and cloud deployments, with an emphasis on performance, reliability, scalability, and security. This position is based in New Jersey, Atlanta, Chicago, and Dallas.

Compensation: USD 53,580 - 122,400 per year.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Scala and related technologies.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines and real-time processing systems.
  • Develop and consume APIs that support distributed, microservices-based architectures.
  • Create and enhance modern frontend applications that support seamless user experiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement end-to-end solutions.
  • Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments.
  • Help ensure application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Contribute to high-performance applications supporting e-commerce, analytics, and data-intensive workloads.

Skills and experience

  • Strong proficiency in Scala and functional programming concepts.
  • Experience with Scala frameworks such as Akka, Play Framework, and Spark.
  • Solid understanding of the Java ecosystem and Java-Scala interoperability.
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing microservices and RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience working in big data, stream processing, and real-time data environments.
  • Proven experience in the e-commerce domain.
  • Strong expertise in modern frontend development using React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Experience building responsive, high-performance, customer-facing web applications.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and modern software development practices.
  • Experience in high-transaction-volume environments such as e-commerce, fintech, or analytics.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
  • Familiarity with Kafka, Spark Streaming, Akka Streams, or similar real-time processing frameworks.
