Software Engineer

GRVTY is hiring a Software Engineer for a top project in Chantilly, VA (onsite). This role supports mission-focused engineering work that combines deep software development with systems administration and cloud and network communication analysis. You will contribute across technical domains while building solutions that help teams meet collection and integration needs.

To be considered, the position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance. The pay range is $150,000-$250,000 per year, with comprehensive benefits and strong support for work-life balance.

What You’ll Do

• Gather mission needs and translate them into technical requirements for Sponsor consideration.
• Document and communicate technical and non-technical mission requirements across multiple audiences.
• Collaborate with other technical teams across organizational boundaries to support mission execution.
• Leverage programming, software tools and packages, operating systems, and networking knowledge to address collection needs.
• Analyze browser network traffic to understand client/server communications and requests.
• Integrate cloud services, including AWS Lambda and layers, S3, AWS Batch, Amazon EC2, Amazon EventBridge, Amazon SNS, Amazon SQS, IAM roles, DynamoDB, and container services.
• Transform data across file formats into common representations such as JSON, CSV, or XML.
• Analyze unknown software code to extract relevant fields and determine or mimic its behavior.
• Develop a software testing harness or implement continuous testing methodology for the project.

What You Bring

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance
• Systems Administration experience
• Python experience
• Deep experience in software development
• Ability to program efficiently (back-end, not UI) in at least one other programming language besides Python or JavaScript
• Demonstrated experience installing Linux from scratch and developing complex Unix shell scripts
• Demonstrated experience using AWS Cloud Development Kits (CDK) (CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar are NOT substitutes for CDK experience)
• Ability to gather mission needs and transform them into technical requirements for Sponsor consideration
• Demonstrated ability to document and communicate technical and non-technical mission requirements for all audiences
• Demonstrated experience working with other technical teams across multiple organizational boundaries

Nice to Have

• Demonstrated experience with tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, JADX, or APKtool
• Demonstrated experience with multiple cloud providers
• Demonstrated experience with other programming languages besides Python
