Software Engineer

Trane Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and maintain a full-stack software suite for the Commercial Chiller organization. The role supports performance prediction and bill of material optimization capabilities, along with internal tooling and analytics or AI services.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to translate engineering requirements into software
• Partner with product support to understand customer needs
• Work with IT to resolve integration issues
• Support and troubleshoot field issues related to the software
• Continuously improve software speed and develop new capabilities
• Explore, understand, and facilitate adoption of best practices
• Coach and mentor team members
• Participate in and manage the commercial software release process
• Participate in the project process to develop solutions aligned with goals and objectives
• Estimate work and effort for project planning
• Use version control

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent technical degree
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in a software development environment, preferably software development for engineering use
• Strong proficiency in at least one of the following: C#, Java, C++, Python
• Familiarity with full-stack web development, including SPA architecture
• Experience with software development and testing using Agile methodology with remote teams
• Experience developing for Azure, AWS, GCP, or other cloud platforms
• Experience building applications using relational databases
• Experience across the software lifecycle, including development, deployments, and sunsets

Work Location and Schedule

Location: La Crosse, WI (onsite)

Schedule: Monday to Thursday onsite with colleagues. Fridays allow selection of work location, balanced with what the role requires.

Compensation

Annual Base Salary Range: USD 65,200 - 118,860 per yearly
