Software Engineer

Visionist, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer for a fully funded PRIME contract supporting intelligence community missions. This onsite role in Columbia, MD combines full-stack engineering with data engineering and applied AI/ML to help teams ingest, process, and visualize mission results.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications across frontend and backend environments
• Build ETL workflows to reconcile requested versus realized infrastructure
• Apply AI tools and techniques to accelerate analysis and rapidly prototype new solutions
• Ensure scalable and reliable data ingestion and processing
• Collaborate with full-stack engineers to integrate and visualize results

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (additional 4 years of experience may substitute for degree)
• 12 years of experience in Software Engineering
• Strong experience with Python
• Experience using AI/ML tools to accelerate data analysis and engineering solution development
• Experience with Kafka and streaming analytics
• Working knowledge of relational databases
• Exposure to adjacent domains such as dataflow, data science, or mission analytics

Salary: $170,000 - $240,000 per year
