Software Engineer

Build and maintain data-focused software systems that support large-scale data collection, processing, and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test complex client applications and/or large distributed systems
• Own discrete development tasks from implementation through testing
• Work on simpler technical challenges and deliver timely solutions
• Participate in cross-functional efforts to identify and resolve data quality issues
• Support continuous improvement by evaluating new systems through ongoing research
• Complete discrete coding tasks within a single work stream
• Fix bugs, address limited-scope problems, and implement minor feature changes
• Follow set coding standards during development
• Maintain the system and provide limited product support
• Collaborate with team members, and sometimes with customers, to translate business and customer needs into technical solutions

Requirements

• Bachelors degree
• 0-2 years of systems development experience
• Proficiency in computing languages
• Experience with HTTP protocols
• Understanding of database architecture
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Aptitude and desire to code
• Intellectual curiosity and creativity
• Solid business ethics
• Ability to work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
