Software Engineer / Developer
Job Description
Noblis is seeking a Software Engineer/Developer to help build containerized software in support of NASA and FAA efforts aimed at improving the efficiency and safety of commercial air travel. This remote role covers the full release lifecycle, from requirements and design through verification, deployment, and ongoing support, with opportunities for technical leadership and mentorship.
In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan sprints, deliver features, manage databases, and maintain reliable software and scripts across development environments. You will also use AI tools to generate Python code, and contribute to reviews of other developers’ work.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct requirements gathering and analysis, support sprint planning, and create Jira tickets for feature development and release cycle support
- Participate in V&V testing including smoke tests, performance profiling, load testing, and regression; perform verification and validation activities
- Support deployments to Dev, Staging, and PROD environments and address defects during bug fixing
- Engage in planning reviews, demos, and retrospectives as part of the development process
- Manage databases as needed for application support and release readiness
- Use AI to generate Python code to support implementation work
- Help formulate plans for software architecture and development in support of demos
- Develop and maintain software and scripts using Java, Python, and Bash
- Create and maintain application containers using Docker
- Create and maintain unit tests
- Conduct code reviews for other developers
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
- Experience developing code with Java, Python, and Bash
- Experience using AI tools for code development
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with Linux
- Proven organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar applications
- Ability to understand and code proof-of-concepts in a modern programming language
- Ability to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship

Compensation
USD 78,900 - 123,300 per year (posted salary range: USD $78,900.00 - USD $123,300.00 /Yr.).
