Python Software Engineer – Containerized Mission Applications

Support mission-focused software applications as a Python Software Engineer on-site in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and troubleshoot Python applications
• Integrate software with COTS, GOTS, and open-source products
• Deploy containerized services to Kubernetes using Helm
• Work with MongoDB and RabbitMQ
• Support logging and monitoring using Elastic Stack, Prometheus, and Grafana

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution
• Proficiency with Linux command-line tools
• Bash scripting
• Recent Python 3 development experience
• Experience with RabbitMQ or similar messaging frameworks
• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
• Experience with Docker, containerd, and Kubernetes
• Experience with Helm chart development
• Hands-on use of GitLab CI and CI/CD practices
• Experience with Elastic Stack, Prometheus, and Grafana
• Experience with Git

Preferred Qualifications

• PostgreSQL or other SQL databases
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Ansible
• Rust or willingness to learn
• Jira and Confluence

Work Location & Arrangement

• Location: Annapolis Junction, MD
• Work arrangement: On-site
• All positions require in-person work
• Applicants must live within commuting distance of the listed work location
• Limited telework may be possible on some roles, but regular on-site attendance is required
• These are not fully remote positions

Clearance

• Required clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph

Compensation

• Hourly pay: USD 105 - 116
• Approximate pay range: $105.92–$116.95 per hour
• Employer 401(k) contribution: additional (10% non-elective)
• Three compensation models: Max Rate, With Bonus, or With Bonus and PTO
• Lower end reflects a no-bonus option with five weeks of PTO
• Upper end reflects the Max Rate option without bonus or PTO
• PTO and bonuses depend on the selected model and role eligibility
