Software Engineer II - API Marketplace

Software Engineer II on JPMorgan Chase's API Marketplace Team within the Consumer and Community Banking division, contributing to designing, developing, and troubleshooting software components in an agile, secure, scalable environment while growing in the role. Location: Jersey City, NJ onsite; Salary range: USD 118,750 - 150,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Delivers standard software solutions across design, development, and debugging activities.
• Produces secure, high quality code in at least one programming language with limited supervision.
• Designs, implements, and troubleshoots components with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and their technical implications.
• Leverages the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to boost automation and overall value.
• Applies structured technical troubleshooting to resolve basic complexity problems.
• Gathers and analyzes large, diverse data sets to identify issues and inform decisions that support secure, stable applications.
• Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills to develop secure, stable code and systems.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts plus at least 2 years of practical experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience with Java/Spring Boot or React/TypeScript.
• Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Demonstrable ability to code in one or more languages.
• Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle.
• Experience using agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
