Job Description

LexisNexis Risk Solutions is the essential partner in the assessment of risk within the Government vertical. In this role, you’ll help government agencies and law enforcement turn complex data sets into actionable insights, supporting efforts that improve operational efficiency, program integrity, and timely, informed decisions.

You’ll join a team of engineers collaborating on sophisticated web applications, backend systems, data research, and data transformations. Work includes building and deploying systems across a range of on prem and cloud environments, with a shared focus on supporting analysts and delivering critical services to government clients.

What you’ll do

  • Interface with technical personnel to finalize requirements for components of moderate complexity.
  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for system components.
  • Translate moderately complex product requirements into software designs by partnering with the development team.
  • Implement development processes, follow coding best practices, and participate in code reviews.
  • Work in development environments such as Agile and Waterfall while collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Resolve technical issues as needed, including completing bug fixes.
  • Stay current on new technology developments relevant to the work.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience.
  • BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Security clearance requirement: No active clearance required, but you must be eligible for TS/SCI.
  • Proficiency with data manipulation languages, including knowledge of data modeling and data science principles.
  • Ability to work with very large data and complex data models.
  • Proficiency in development languages including (but not limited to) Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices, including code coverage.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
  • Knowledge of data storage subsystems and test-driven development.
  • Ability to complete moderately complex bug fixes.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external technology resources.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Role details

  • Location: Miamisburg, OH (onsite)
  • Compensation: USD 78,800 - 131,300 per year
  • Focus: Research, design, development, and testing of software components within a defined product area
  • Technologies include: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, .Net, test-driven development
