Software Engineer, Parallel File Systems, AI/ML Storage

Google in Seattle, onsite, is pursuing a Software Engineer focused on AI and ML storage and parallel file systems. You will help design next generation cloud storage for extreme scale data workloads, providing robust APIs, distributed systems capability, and performance optimization. This role offers a competitive salary between USD 147,000 and 211,000 per year, together with a comprehensive benefits package, and the chance to influence how large-scale data is stored and accessed in the cloud. Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy application programming interfaces for the file system platform
• Architect and implement distributed systems to deliver storage at multi-petabyte scale
• Advance file system technologies for data protection features such as snapshots, backups, and security
• Identify bottlenecks, drive performance improvements, and build customer-facing tools to optimize specific workloads
• Apply optimizations to reduce overall cost

Requirements

Experience baseline: Minimum 1 year of professional experience.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 2 years of experience programming with Golang, Java, or C++
• 2 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or storage systems
• 2 years of software development experience, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting
