The Flight Autonomy team in El Segundo, CA seeks an on-site Software Engineer or Principal Software Engineer who will contribute to architecture, embedded and real-time software, Agile development, and testing with Vehicle Management Systems and Mission Autonomy groups.

Location: El Segundo, CA on-site

Salary: USD 91,800 - 171,000 per year. Primary level range: $91,800 - $137,600. Secondary level range: $114,000 - $171,000.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in architecture definition and solve complex system problems across Research and Advanced Design programs
  • Design, develop, and document flight and mission critical software for deployment onto embedded and real-time systems
  • Engage in the full software development life cycle, including requirements, design, implementation, test, and delivery of software products
  • Contribute within Agile Scrum teams to develop software for multiple baselines
  • Collaborate with Vehicle Management Systems and Mission Autonomy teams to develop and execute component, subsystem, and system level test procedures for VMS and MA hardware and software

Requirements

Level 2 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited university with 2 years of software engineering experience OR Master’s degree in STEM with 0 years OR PhD in STEM with 0 years
  • Experience developing software with C/C++, Python, Lua, or Rust
  • Experience with a real-time operating system
  • Familiarity with Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD)
  • Knowledge of software development tools such as Git, CMake, Jenkins, and Visual Studio
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the final U.S. adjudicated government Secret clearance and any program access required in a timely manner

Level 3 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5 years of software engineering experience OR Master’s degree with 3 years OR PhD with 1 year
  • Experience with C/C++, Python, Lua, or Rust
  • Experience with a real-time operating system
  • Familiarity with OOAD
  • Proficiency with tools such as Git, CMake, Jenkins, and Visual Studio
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the final U.S. adjudicated government Secret clearance and any program access required in a timely manner
