Lockheed Martin is seeking a Software Engineer Staff to join its Colorado Springs operation, contributing to missile defense software programs. This onsite role centers on designing, developing, and testing software within agile teams, with a focus on Java applications, Linux environments, and cybersecurity, and requires a final secret clearance.

Compensation

  • Annual base salary: $113,900 - $200,905

Security clearance

  • Final Secret clearance required; US Citizenship is mandatory

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related technical field

Requirements

  • Final secret clearance required for consideration
  • Bachelor's degree as listed above
  • Proficiency in at least one modern language (C++, C, C#, or Java), with a preference for C++
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Git version control proficiency
  • Software development experience in a Linux environment

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new Java applications while maintaining existing Java codebases
  • Support software testing and resolve issues across multiple baselines
  • Provide in-depth analysis and technical support for systems software, addressing complex problems
  • Translate system specifications into operating system level applications or modifications
  • Assist with design, coding, benchmarking, debugging, and documentation of programs
  • Collaborate with other system support groups
  • Create software design artifacts and participate in design and code reviews
