Sr Electrical Engineer
Job Description
Amgen seeks a Sr Electrical Engineer in New Albany, OH (onsite) to oversee advanced maintenance activities and operate electrical systems and facilities within the F&E Infrastructure group; salary range USD 115,494 - 156,257 per year.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced maintenance tasks and operate assigned equipment, facilities, utilities, and electrical systems per established guidelines and procedures with limited supervision.
- Conduct intermediate troubleshooting and apply advanced predictive technologies to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to diagnose or prevent equipment problems.
- Support the New Albany Advance Assembly and Packing Facility as part of the F&E Infrastructure Operations team.
- Independently deliver or guide process optimization strategies and troubleshoot site utilities and electrical systems.
- Apply diverse engineering principles to design and implement major system modifications, experiments, processes, and capital projects.
- Develop, organize, analyze, and present interpretations of results for operational issues or engineering projects of scope and complexity.
- Design, review, and manage electrical systems and subsystems with emphasis on safety, EMC, power, and applicable compliance.
- Develop power, control, and communications architecture for product and application environments.
- Develop electrical requirements and specifications.
- Create cost effective electrical design solutions suitable for manufacturability.
- Collaborate with technical cross-discipline teams to develop innovative system solutions.
- Prepare and conduct technical design reviews.
- Develop engineering policies and procedures that affect multiple organizational units.
- Supervise, coordinate, and review work by contractors and suppliers on an ongoing and project basis.
- Apply advanced engineering techniques or modify advanced techniques within the area of engineering expertise.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles outside the immediate field to a broad range of related assignments.
- Serve as a peer recognized engineering technology specialist for low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems, with responsibility for determining methodologies in that area.
- Own the equipment and/or systems related to the Site Electrical System.
- Maintain deep technical understanding of transformers, generators, uninterruptible power systems, rotary UPS, motor control centers, switchgear, and medium voltage components.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree.
- Master’s degree in engineering with 2 years of electrical or automation experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 4 years of electrical or automation experience.
- Associate’s degree in engineering with 8 years of electrical or automation experience.
- High school diploma or GED with 10 years of electrical or automation experience.
