Join PJM Interconnection, LLC in an onsite role in Audubon, PA 19403 where your work directly supports the reliability and long-term adequacy of the PJM system. This position coordinates and facilitates the interconnection of new generation and merchant transmission projects, helping translate stakeholder needs into well-planned transmission expansion and network upgrades.
In this role, you will act as a central point of coordination across PJM divisions, external stakeholders, transmission owners, and project developers. You will manage interconnection studies, agreements, and milestone delivery from engineering design through signing of the interconnection service agreement. Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison and build the external interfaces between PJM and key stakeholders, including transmission owners, generation and project developers, and other entities, covering connection design and scheduling for the PJM bulk power system.
- Develop and coordinate project work plans for generation and transmission system reinforcement efforts that address multiple customer needs across multiple transmission owner systems.
- Provide project management to establish timelines and monitor progress against milestones and critical path tasks from engineering design through signing of the interconnection service agreement.
- Coordinate proactively with members of the applicable PJM divisions to align on system reinforcement needs.
- Coordinate, develop, and issue interconnection studies and related agreements for generation and merchant transmission projects.
- Monitor and analyze existing project management practices and support the development of new methods, including improved and emerging progress monitoring technologies supporting construction activities.
- Develop and implement tactical plans consistent with the division or department strategy.
Requirements
- BS, Engineering
- BS, Electrical Engineering or at least 5 years of experience equivalent and applicable work experience
- At least 5 years of field experience with major substation and transmission line construction and maintenance, or generation operations, construction, and maintenance activities
- Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Ability to use mathematical and electrical theory
- Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support
