Sr. Engineer - Process Control
Job Description
Celltrion Branchburg, LLC is expanding its engineering team at the Branchburg, New Jersey campus, seeking a Senior Process Control Engineer to help shape how manufacturing processes are controlled and monitored onsite. This role centers on developing and configuring Rockwell PLC/HMI programs, S88 batch recipes, and OSI PI historian data, while leveraging analytics to support Process Control and Building Management System operations across Celltrion NJ facilities. The position pairs hands-on technical work with cross-functional collaboration and duties spanning change control, commissioning, and qualification activities.
Salary: USD 87,000 - 150,000 per year

Education: B.S. or M.S. in Engineering (Chemical/Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering)
Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Rockwell Process Control, overseeing and developing PLC/HMI code, S88 batch configurations, OSI PI historian, MS SQL reporting, ThinManager, and data analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, SAS, etc.), as applicable.
- Provide frontline support and troubleshooting for PLC/HMI programs, smart instruments, and historian data-collection systems as needed.
- Coordinate with contractors delivering PLC/HMI/historian development work.
- Operate with a high degree of independence, requiring minimal supervision.
- Deliver Process Control and Electrical support for clinical and commercial biologics manufacturing operations, representing Engineering on cross-functional teams and potentially supporting data analytics and reporting as applicable.
- Lead equipment and process troubleshooting, perform Root Cause Analysis, and manage deviations as applicable.
- Drive continuous improvement projects, including data review/monitoring, audit trails, and electrical engineering tasks, as applicable.
- Collaborate regularly with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Process Engineers, Plant Engineering, Validation, Quality, and other functions as needed.
- Monitor and analyze process data to support improvements and issue resolution for applicable departments.
- Author, review, and approve change controls, deviation investigations, SOPs, drawings, schematics, and work orders.
- Identify gaps in Process Control and Data Integrity knowledge that could affect equipment and process capability, as applicable.
- Provide engineering support and project management by maintaining and enhancing Process Control and Building Management Systems, as applicable.
- Develop project scope with user requirements, design documents, functional specifications, and engineering drawings; influence operability, feasibility, maintenance, spare parts, installation/shutdown coordination, project schedules, and validation/documentation needs.
- Arrange procurement of equipment and instrumentation required for projects; collaborate with consultants and mechanical contractors to produce design and construction drawings/specifications and to implement/test changes.
- Lead installation, start-up, commissioning, and qualification activities.
- Provide on-call after-hours and weekend support to Facilities/Manufacturing to ensure continuous production.
- Maintain required training and develop expertise through technical seminars and sessions.

Requirements
- Demonstrated deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience with Rockwell Process Control systems (PLC/HMI).
- Minimum 3 years of experience with AVEVA PI Historian, MS SQL database/reporting, and data analytics tools, as applicable.
- Technical knowledge and experience with data analytics tools to monitor manufacturing processes, support cost reduction, uphold data integrity compliance, and manage electrical distribution, lighting, UPS systems, and emergency generators, as applicable.
- Solid understanding of Process Control Systems, as applicable.
- Experience providing frontline GMP environment support.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 2-5 years of experience with Rockwell Automation (PLCs/HMIs), FactoryTalk Batch, and AVEVA PI systems.
- 5+ years of industrial experience in a cGMP environment.
- Ownership of the data integrity program supporting manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical/Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering).
