Sr. Machine Learning Engineer, AGI

Amazon’s Foundational AI (FAI) team is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer to help build Generative AI technology using Large Language Models (LLMs). The role emphasizes development of RL Gyms, progress on frontier model research, and acceleration of results by applying Amazon’s heterogeneous data and large-scale computing resources.

Role Focus

• Develop Generative AI capabilities with LLMs within the Foundational AI (FAI) team
• Contribute to RL Gym development and evaluate their usefulness for frontier model advancement
• Support foundational model development in an applied research capacity
• Use heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate advances in LLMs

Responsibilities

• Support the development of RL Gyms
• Assess RL Gym usefulness for advancing frontier model research
• Build techniques that advance the state of the art with LLMs
• Support foundational model development in an applied research role
• Leverage heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate LLM advancements

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with experience in at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture experience, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling for new and existing systems
• Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team
• 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

Compensation

Base Salary Range: USD 193,300 to 261,500 per year
