Job Description

This Sr. Principal Engineer Electronics – Mission Processing position supports definition, design, integration, test, and certification activities, with eligibility for Secret and Top Secret clearances. Responsibilities
- Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications
- Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate mission management subsystems to meet platform mission objectives
- Provide technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support
- Develop supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
- Build supplier evaluation criteria and maintain experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection
- Review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 8 years of related professional/military engineering experience, or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years of related experience
- Experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering in Cameo or similar tools
- Experience in supplier/subcontract management
- Experience developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
- Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection
- Ability to review supplier development documents and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
- Active US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and access to any program required for the position
- Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Top Secret clearance
- Familiarity with network, commercial cloud, platform infrastructures and containerized software architecture
- Familiarity with Digital Engineering processes and environments
- Knowledge of systems engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a close team environment
- Experience engaging directly with internal and external technical and programmatic representatives
- Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and work independently in a self-directed manner
- Experience in model-based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML tools
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Experience and/or certification with cloud and container management and security technologies such as VMware, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Docker, Red Hat OpenShift, Amazon ECS, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, and Nomad
