Sr Software Engineer (IKS service&agent platform)
Job Description
Intuit’s Core Platform Engineering Team is building and operating the Kubernetes Platform that supports Intuit’s flagship products and internal platform services. In this onsite role in Mountain View, you will help ensure the reliability and seamless functioning of the Kubernetes Platform across Intuit while managing and scaling Intuit Kubernetes Services (IKS) on AWS.
You will contribute across platform development, deployment, adoption, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting for multiple Kubernetes-hosted services, with a focus on operational excellence through automation, observability, and process improvements.
Role overview
- Develop and maintain the Kubernetes Platform across Intuit, supporting highly available and scalable customer experiences.
- Manage and operate Intuit Kubernetes Services (IKS) on AWS, including services running on AWS EKS.
- Support Kubernetes clusters that host Intuit flagship products such as TurboTax, Quickbooks, and Mailchimp.
- Work on platform services such as Identity, API Gateway, and Service Mesh.
- Drive platform adoption and operational excellence by improving reliability, configuration, troubleshooting, and automation.
What you will do
- Apply deep understanding of business and customer needs to design and implement capabilities, tools, and processes for reliable, scalable platforms.
- Use system engineering and software development expertise, including critical thinking and industry best practices, to build innovative solutions toward platform reliability.
- Build, operate, and scale services running on AWS EKS.
- Collaborate with Intuit Product and Platform Development Teams to plan, prioritize, and design highly available cloud architectures.
- Contribute to critical platform components and strengthen operations using automation, observability, and process optimization.
- Troubleshoot complex issues while managing stakeholder expectations through clear communication and proactive updates.
- Participate in on-call and support rotations, driving incident recovery, resolution, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Provide technical leadership by guiding system design and implementation and ensuring best practices are applied.
- Participate in mentoring engineers and supporting an environment focused on learning and growth.
- Gather functional requirements, develop technical specifications, and participate in project and test planning.
- Design and implement proofs of concept (POCs), then productize components and features.
- Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches.
- Work cross-functionally with product management, QA/QE, product lines, and business units to drive outcomes.
- Contribute to the project design and architecture.
Required experience and skills
- Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies.
- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of software development experience, production engineering experience, and building/managing large-scale systems on AWS.
- 3+ years of solid development experience building RESTful services using Go, Python, Java/J2EE (Spring, MVC, Hibernate), and/or NodeJS.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and strong understanding of container orchestration and cloud technologies.
- Programming experience in one or more of: Go, Python, or object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Good understanding of microservices architecture.
- Strong communication skills, including explaining complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong understanding of the software design and architecture process.
- Experience with unit testing and Test Driven Development (TDD).
- Strong understanding of generative AI concepts and fundamentals, with hands-on experience on generative AI projects.
- Open-source development experience preferred.

Compensation
- Location: Mountain View, CA (onsite)
- Base pay range: USD 171,000 - 231,500 per year
- Pay offered is based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
- This position may be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits in accordance with Intuit plans and programs.
