The Opportunity

The Staff Engineer Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) serves as a technical contributor delivering high quality I&C engineering solutions on projects of moderate to high complexity. In this role, you may function as a technical specialist or take on a lead position, applying advanced I&C methods with minimal supervision to drive project success.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering and technical delivery: develop and review core I&C outputs including P&IDs, control narratives, cause and effects; instrument datasheets, specifications, I/O lists, and Instrument Index; sizing and selection of inline and offline instrument devices; control system architecture (DCS, PLC, ICSS, SCADA); Mechanical Package Interface Coordination; ensure designs meet project requirements, client specifications, industry standards, and company procedures.
  • Project execution support: lead I&C engineering on mid-size projects and serve as the discipline engineer on large projects; coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and vendor teams; collaborate with other offices for staffing and coordination.
  • Client and vendor interface: engage with clients, contractors, and vendors; participate in technical meetings and field activities such as FAT and SAT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program in the home country or the country of practice
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include criminal/civil background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws
