Staff Systems Engineer - Cybersecurity Project Lead
Job Description
On-site in San Diego, lead cybersecurity engineering within an Integrated Product Team, with travel up to 10%.
Responsibilities
- Provide execution leadership, assign tasks, and guide a team of cybersecurity engineers.
- Oversee the development of cybersecurity design solutions and related artifacts.
- Coordinate reviews and approvals of cybersecurity development and implementation plans, design guides, processes, and procedures.
- Develop cybersecurity requirements and verification plans.
- Review test procedures and evaluate results to ensure alignment with cybersecurity requirements and verification plans.
- Instruct, mentor, and promote agile concepts and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Education and experience: PhD in a STEM field with at least 8 years of relevant military or professional experience; or MS in a STEM field with at least 10 years; or BS in a STEM field with at least 12 years.
- Experience supporting Systems Engineering milestones SRR, PDR, and CDR.
- Experience across the full lifecycle of Systems Engineering, including requirements decomposition, test planning, verification, and requirements management.
- Active US Government Top Secret clearance with a background investigation completed within the last six years or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program SAP clearance within a timeframe aligned to business needs.
- Experience leading an engineering team or project from concept to design to implementation.
- Experience as a Control Account Manager and baselining of contracts.
- Experience with requirements decomposition and traceability from system to unit or supplier specifications.
- Experience with implementation and deployment of capabilities and tracking of configurations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Top Secret SCI clearance with a background investigation within the past five years or ongoing Continuous Evaluation.
- Current applicable Special Access Program SAP clearance.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Engineering management experience.
- Agile project management experience, including prioritizing workflow.
- Familiarity with AGILE/SCRUM Master roles.
- Familiarity with STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guides).
- Experience across multiple Systems Engineering disciplines, including requirements, integration, and technical configuration management.
- Experience with Agile design methodologies.
- Experience with software development and with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes.
