Transmission Line Engineer II

NV5 is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer II to support expanding overhead (OH) electric transmission projects with a hybrid role based in Southern California.

Responsibilities

• Perform routing and design for high-voltage overhead transmission line projects using the Power Line Systems software suite (PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, TOWER)
• Complete structure analysis and foundation design for transmission line work
• Create job packages and develop design criteria and specifications
• Support specification and procurement of materials for assigned projects
• Assist with project cost estimating
• Conduct quality control reviews to support design deliverables
• Provide construction support and collaborate directly with construction crews
• Prepare drawings and project documentation required for construction of transmission line projects

Requirements

• 3-5 years of progressive overhead transmission engineering experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• EIT certification
• M.S. degree in a related field is a plus
• Civil/Structural transmission line experience is a plus (examples include Steel Pole Design and Foundation Design)
• Experience with 12kV to 500kV line design is a plus
• Working knowledge and/or expertise with Power Line Systems software suite is a plus (including PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, TOWER)
• PE license is a plus

• San Diego, CA (hybrid)

Salary

• USD 80,000 - 100,000 per year
