Water/Wastewater Project Engineer

Job Description

Dewberry is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to support municipal and industrial treatment design efforts in Charlotte, NC. The role involves collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams on projects that include pump stations, pipelines, storage tanks, and treatment facilities, with opportunities to contribute to treatment projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating a multi-disciplined project design team.
  • Managing project scope and budget.
  • Preparation of engineering reports.
  • Pump station design, inflow and infiltration studies, hydraulic modeling, collection system condition assessment and design, water distribution and storage, with potential opportunities to engage on treatment projects.
  • Developing opinions of probable project cost.
  • Providing construction phase engineering services.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.
  • M.S. degree a plus
  • 3+ years of experience with progressive responsibilities for public sector water and wastewater projects.
  • North Carolina PE preferred, or the ability to obtain within one year of employment
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required.
  • Familiar with Modeling and GIS software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and county/agency review staff.
  • Water/Wastewater infrastructure experience is a plus.
