Position overview
The Water and Wastewater Senior Design Engineer focuses on municipal projects, handling planning, design and analysis of water and wastewater facilities. This onsite role is based in King of Prussia, PA, with the option to base in Allentown, PA.
Primary function
This position plans, designs and analyzes water and wastewater engineering projects such as water mains, sanitary mains, pumping stations and treatment facilities. The ideal candidate is self motivated, communicates clearly in writing and speech, and works well within a team environment.
Primary duties
- Hydraulic calculations and layout of structures.
- Produce correspondence, reports and biddable documents for arsenic, radium and iron removal water plants; wells; water storage tanks; pumping stations; piping systems; and wastewater treatment plant improvements.
- Provide engineering support to the inspection department.
- Represent the firm to Townships, utility authorities and private utility companies.
- Draft concise proposals for new work.
- Capable of addressing multiple simultaneous assignments, on time and within budgets.
- Proactively identify problems and perform detailed analyses to resolve them.
- Produce all deliverables associated with this position.
- Regulatory permitting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field is required.
- PE license required; professional engineer designation highly valued.
- Ability to clarify and concisely express thoughts verbally and in written correspondence, reports and specifications.
- Demonstrates pride and effort in all work assignments.
- Willingness to seek guidance to expedite deliverables when needed.
- Ability to work on both group and individual assignments.
- Effective communication, management and writing skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Salary
Annual compensation range: USD 92,000 to 151,800.
