Job Description

Senior Structural Design Engineer on-site in Decatur, IL, joining the Engineering Services team to support facility CapEx improvement projects and independently manage structural design work from concept through completion in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, and execute structural engineering tasks for major and medium-scale projects
Perform full-cycle structural design and detailing for industrial facilities
Design and analyze steel structures, concrete systems, and foundations
Address complex engineering challenges, balancing conflicting design requirements and material limitations
Coordinate across disciplines to ensure project alignment and successful execution
Review project progress with leadership and provide technical recommendations
Identify and implement improvements to engineering processes and procedures
Prepare technical reports and documentation
May supervise engineers and technicians on project assignments

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, Agricultural, or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis
10+ years of structural engineering experience in industrial or similar environments
Strong expertise in steel and concrete design
Foundation systems experience
Ability to work independently and manage multiple project phases
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
