Senior Structural Design Engineer

Senior Structural Design Engineer on-site in Decatur, IL, joining the Engineering Services team to support facility CapEx improvement projects and independently manage structural design work from concept through completion in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute structural engineering tasks for major and medium-scale projects
• Perform full-cycle structural design and detailing for industrial facilities
• Design and analyze steel structures, concrete systems, and foundations
• Address complex engineering challenges, balancing conflicting design requirements and material limitations
• Coordinate across disciplines to ensure project alignment and successful execution
• Review project progress with leadership and provide technical recommendations
• Identify and implement improvements to engineering processes and procedures
• Prepare technical reports and documentation
• May supervise engineers and technicians on project assignments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, Agricultural, or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience in industrial or similar environments
• Strong expertise in steel and concrete design
• Foundation systems experience
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple project phases
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
