Job Description

Join the National Security Agency in Fort Gordon, GA (onsite) as an Electrical Engineer supporting facilities design and electrical system control and monitoring.

Responsibilities

Prepare design and construction cost estimates.
Develop designs for new and renovated facilities.
Produce engineering technical reports, specifications, and drawings.
Provide construction detailing.
Perform engineering analysis and calculations.
Conduct code analysis.
Support project management and facilities planning.
Draft electrical plans and schematics.

Monitoring and Control System Competencies (Desired)

Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following: SCADA and electrical control systems.
Implementation of relays and data aggregators.
Configuring and supporting Schweitzer Real Time Automation Controllers (RTAC).
Evaluating and documenting PLC programs for electrical power control.
Relay protection design.
Applying network connectivity concepts and methods (routing, switching, tunneling, IP addressing).

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in an electrical engineering capacity (e.g., UPS, switchgear, SCADA, transformers, substations, power panels, switchboards, and metering of power).
Degree must be a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, General Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.
If the program is not ABET accredited, it must include specified coursework.
A degree in Engineering Technology will also be considered if it includes the specified coursework.
Specified coursework includes differential and integral calculus and 5 of the following 18 areas: statics or dynamics; strength of materials/stress-strain relationships; fluid mechanics; hydraulics; thermodynamics; electromagnetic fields; nature and properties of materials/relating particle and aggregate structure to properties; solid state electronics; microprocessor applications; computer systems; signal processing; digital design.
Experience using NEC code and computer aided design and drafting, including reading design drawings and cost estimation.
Project management experience may be included.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Employment is contingent on successful completion of a security background investigation and polygraph.
Random drug testing applies in accordance with Executive Order 12564.
Required DCIPS trial period: two-year trial period (or one-year if veterans’ preference-eligible employee).

Salary range: $105,262 - $153,082 (Full Performance)

DCIPS trial period: two-year trial period (one-year if veterans’ preference-eligible)

This role centers on delivering Computer Network Defense support to the BLCSE within the Cyber Enterprise Systems Center, ensuring Information Assurance policies and defense requirements are met on site. Responsibilities

Provide Computer Network Defense (CND) support to the BLCSE within the CESC to ensure products, systems, and services comply with applicable IA policies, network defense requirements, and best practices as articulated by ODNI, DIA, DoD, DISA, ARCYBER, and related entities.

Requirements

At least two years of experience in Cyber Security disciplines within DoD and/or other U.S. Government agencies.
Day-one baseline certification required, including GCIA (preferred) or CEH or GCIH or SCYBER or CFR or CSA+ or GICSP.
Within six months of assignment, must have CISA or GSNA or cyber/information/network security advanced degrees approved by the IAM/COR.
Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.

Evaluator Scoring Metric

A relevant bachelor’s degree with substantial IA/CS experience (4+ years) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and on-the-job experience; additional certifications or experience may substitute for a degree.
Demonstrated knowledge of DoD directives and CJCS instructions related to information assurance and cyber security governance, as well as IC and national security initiatives.
Familiarity with DoD and IC security initiatives, and LAN/WAN technologies relevant to secure enterprise networks.
Day-one baseline certification requirements as noted above, with a pathway to CISA or GSNA within six months of assignment.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI access.
