AI Engineer

Amphenol Communications Solutions is hiring an AI Engineer to drive practical AI solutions for the High Speed Backplane Products Business Unit in Nashua, NH (onsite).

Responsibilities

• Identify where AI can improve engineering processes, productivity, and operational effectiveness
• Work with business stakeholders to map workflows, surface challenges, and define automation and optimization opportunities
• Develop, test, and deploy AI-driven solutions, including:
  • Design and simulation tools
  • Reporting and analysis tools
  • Dashboards
  • Customer-use tools
• Partner with engineering teams to convert ideas into working tools
• Train employees and teams on AI tool usage, best practices, and responsible AI usage
• Produce user guides, training materials, and documentation to support adoption and ongoing learning
• Act as a subject matter expert on emerging AI technologies, trends, and business-relevant applications
• Collaborate with IT, business leaders, and cross-functional partners to ensure AI solutions align with:
  • Company objectives
  • Security requirements
  • Governance standards
• Recommend and implement process improvements that reduce manual work, streamline workflows, and increase accuracy
• Stay current on AI compliance, privacy, and ethical considerations for business applications

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 3-5+ years of experience with Python (required)
• Additional experience with C#, C++, MATLAB, or similar tools (preferred)
• Experience integrating software with third-party engineering applications via APIs, scripting interfaces, or similar methods
• Experience automating or integrating engineering applications such as:
  • ANSYS
  • HFSS
  • CST
  • MATLAB
  • Creo
  • SolidWorks
  • Or similar platforms
• Familiarity with AI platforms, generative AI tools, automation technologies, and data visualization software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Experience developing reports, dashboards, and performance metrics
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including training and influencing users across organizational levels
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple initiatives at the same time
