Analytics Engineer - AI Trainer

The Analytics Engineer - AI Trainer at DataAnnotation supports the development of AI systems by evaluating AI generated quantitative work, designing training problems, and providing actionable feedback to improve how AI models reason about data. This contract role offers remote scheduling flexibility and is based in Livonia, Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Assess AI generated quantitative outputs for technical accuracy and real world applicability, including statistical analysis, predictive modeling, scientific reasoning, and data driven insights.
• Design and solve quantitative problems used to train and benchmark AI systems, spanning forecasting, experimental analysis, optimization, and statistical inference.
• Produce clear technical explanations and well documented analytical code.
• Provide feedback that shapes the next generation of AI models designed for quantitative reasoning.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands on experience in a quantitative role or research environment, such as data science, statistics, economics, finance, physics, biology, epidemiology, operations research, or related fields.
• Some coding experience required, with comfort writing and reviewing analytical code end to end.
• Practical experience with statistical methods, predictive modeling, and experiment design (for example A/B testing, hypothesis testing, regression, classification, time series forecasting).
• Fluency in English with strong writing skills.
• A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field is preferred; a master’s or PhD is a plus.
• Relevant credentials are beneficial (e.g., Kaggle competition ranking, AWS or GCP ML certifications, or equivalent demonstrated expertise).
