Ansible AI Engineer Lead

An EAPPS TECH LLC dba Magicforce contract opportunity is available in Chicago, IL (Day 1 onsite) for an Ansible AI Engineer Lead. This role centers on building automation using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) 2.x, with additional focus on AI-assisted development for infrastructure workflows, provisioning, and operational execution. You will also contribute to integrations that connect automation to IT service management and delivery pipelines.

What You’ll Do

• Develop Ansible Playbooks, including Roles, Collections, and Workflow Templates
• Build configuration management and configuration as code solutions for infrastructure automation
• Implement infrastructure lifecycle automation covering server build and provisioning automation
• Address configuration drift remediation and manage OS and middleware configuration management
• Automate patch and compliance activities and support operational task automation
• Create self-service automation workflows for scalable automation delivery
• Operate automation through a Git / GitHub based automation lifecycle
• Use Python scripting alongside YAML / Jinja2 and integrate with external systems using REST APIs
• Administer Automation Controller and Automation Hub
• Implement Event-Driven Ansible capabilities
• Support AI-assisted automation development including:
  • Claude Code for AI-assisted code generation and refactoring
  • Prompt engineering for infrastructure automation
  • AI-assisted debugging and troubleshooting
  • AI-assisted playbook development and optimization
  • AI-assisted documentation generation
• Integrate automation with:
  • ServiceNow and ITSM workflows
  • API-based orchestration
  • CI/CD and GitOps practices

Skills and Requirements

• Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) 2.x
• Proficiency in Ansible Playbook development and building Ansible Roles, Collections and Workflow Templates
• Strong foundation in configuration management and configuration as code
• Hands-on infrastructure automation experience
• Working knowledge of a Git / GitHub based automation lifecycle
• Scripting and templating skills including Python, YAML, and Jinja2
• Experience with REST API integration and Automation Controller / Automation Hub administration
• Background with Event-Driven Ansible
• Ability to apply AI-assisted automation development workflows using Claude Code, including prompt engineering, AI-assisted debugging, playbook optimization, and documentation generation
• Integration experience with ServiceNow, ITSM workflow integration, API-based orchestration, CI/CD integration, and GitOps practices
